About Mako Core

Practical technology for how your business actually works

Mako Core helps owner-led businesses decide where technology can make a measurable difference, then puts the right tools and workflows in place. AI prepares. People decide. Configured for you, not by you.

How it works

Start with the business. Then decide what to build or change.

Most businesses do not need a broad AI strategy or another catalog of tools. They need to understand where work is getting stuck, which opportunity matters most, and what a sensible first improvement looks like.

Mako Core helps identify that first priority, puts the supporting workflow in place, and measures what happens next. Depending on the problem, that may involve software, automation, AI, an integration, or a simpler process. The technology is a means to the result, not the product pitch.

Founder

Scott Williams, Founder & CEO of Mako Core

Scott has spent more than twelve years building products across web, mobile, and cloud. His work has included health technology, global education, business software, and consumer apps. Across those roles, the recurring problem was rarely a lack of technology. It was choosing the right problem and getting a useful solution into people's hands.

He founded Mako Core to bring that approach to owner-led businesses: understand the operation, focus on one valuable change, implement it carefully, and learn from the result. Mako Core is early, deliberately hands-on, and currently working with a small number of businesses.

Who this is for

A good fit starts with a real business problem

Mako Core works best with owner-led teams that know something needs to improve and want help choosing a practical first move.

A good fit

  • Owner-led businesses with a clear operational or growth problem, but no time to sort through every possible tool.
  • Lean teams that want practical help improving how work gets done, not another platform to manage.
  • Teams that want AI to prepare useful work while people remain responsible for the final decision.
  • Independent insurance agencies — the first live customer vertical, shaped with Eton Bridge.

Probably not a fit

  • Teams looking for a self-serve app they can sign up for and configure today.
  • Businesses that want AI to contact customers or publish content without human review.
  • One-off development projects with no clear business outcome to improve or measure.
  • Companies that want a long list of AI ideas instead of a focused first priority.

FAQ

Common questions

What working with Mako Core looks like today.

What is Mako Core?
Mako Core helps owner-led businesses decide where technology can make a measurable difference, then puts the right tools and workflows in place. The work can include software, automation, AI, or improvements to an existing process.
How does an engagement begin?
It starts with a conversation about how the business works, where time or opportunities are being lost, and which result matters most. If there is a useful first move, Mako Core recommends it and explains why.
Do I have to configure a platform?
No. Mako Core sets up the tools and workflows around your business. You can adjust them, but you do not have to choose modules, connect systems, or learn the underlying technology before getting value.
Will AI act on our behalf?
Not without approval. AI can research, prioritize, recommend, and prepare drafts. A person remains responsible for anything sent to a customer or published under the business's name.
Is Mako Core a custom software company?
Not in the traditional project-shop sense. Mako Core starts with a business outcome and uses the simplest approach that can improve it. Custom software is an option when the business case justifies it, not the default answer.
What industries do you support today?
Insurance agencies are the first live customer vertical, shaped with Eton Bridge, an independent insurance agency. Mako Core is also speaking with owner-led businesses in other industries where the same approach may fit.
Can I sign up online?
Not today. Mako Core works with a limited number of businesses and sets up each workspace intentionally. The first step is a 30-minute call.
How do I talk to someone?
Book a 30-minute call at makocore.com/book or email help@makocore.com. Scott Williams, founder and CEO, is based in Melbourne, Florida.

What we believe

Principles for the work

Configured for you, not by you.

We learn how the business works, choose a focused first priority, and set up what is needed. You do not have to assemble a system before it becomes useful.

AI prepares. People decide.

AI can research, organize, recommend, and draft. A person remains accountable for what is sent, published, or promised.

Start with the result

The work should improve something the business cares about: better opportunities, less repetitive work, clearer follow-up, or a result that can be measured.

Use the simplest useful approach

Sometimes the answer is software or automation. Sometimes it is a clearer process. Custom engineering is used when the business case supports it.

Where we are today

Starting with insurance and learning from real use

Mako Core is an early-stage company. The first customer work is with an independent insurance agency, while we also use the same approach to run Mako Core itself.

Internal

Used inside Mako Core

We use the same operating loop for our own opportunities, content, follow-up, and measurement.

Expanding carefully

Other owner-led businesses may be a fit, but we do not claim to support an industry until the work has been shaped with a real business in it.
